I am going to post an idea that Trevor Wilson (the ITIL trainer at ITSM Assist) himself presented to me when I attended one of his ITIL courses, so Trevor you cannot claim this now… Trevor said to me that when you are taking the official ITIL exam (this applies to any multiple-choice exam) look at the optional answers first, then go to the question. This really does work; when you read the question you are not trying to second guess where the question is going, or trying to figure out the point of the question? Already knowing the optional answers available to you massively helps narrow the question down. thanks Trevor, this worked for me!
