As a manager or team leader, when assigning/delegating tasks to individuals it is a good idea to assign tasks which can completed for that day only. Try to avoid assigning tasks that will consume the week or longer. This will limit work in progress (WIP) and help identify issues/bottlenecks early. If some tasks appear to be too large to complete within the day, involve a small collaborative team where the team can work out themselves how to complete the task within the day.
